‘Improve Your Handwriting’
The Handwriting one is specifically to improve peoples’ handwriting - to be able to write (remember that skill?) more clearly and with more fun in whatever style you prefer - this doesn't need to be calligraphy as such and I will give examples and simple exercises to follow.
I provide all the materials and will also give some insights about writing, alphabets, pens, paper, calligraphy and ink etc as we go along. And some historical information too.
Phone 01856871000 for more details
No experience necessary. I hope you'll have a lot of fun.
The Handwriting workshops (1 hour) will run as before and will cost £8 per session.

Room / hire
Sketchbook sessions will run on Fridays and Sundays.
Friday Sketchbook sessions (1 and a 1/4 hours) will work as before (mostly inside but with some outdoor sessions). I can provide sketchbooks and all materials. Friday Sketchbook sessions cost £8 per session. These will be mostly technique based and I will be there to tutor and answer any queries/set exercises.
6. Sunday Sketchbook sessions (2 hours) will be outdoor drawing (weather permitting with a venue to meet at - I have a car and can give lifts to up to 3 people to and from Kirkwall). In the case of bad weather, we will use the Reel (upstairs) to do a still life or figure drawing.
You will need a sketchbook, your preferred drawing materials, a portable seat and something to lean on (wooden board or clipboard).
Sunday Sketchbook sessions cost £5 per session. These will be mostly to give you time to simply draw and use your observational skills over longer periods and I will be there to tutor and answer any queries.
